This is a pretty predictable flip phone with a camera, but mine has three annoying problems.

1). I must say, the earpiece is total garbage. I don’t have the volume turned up that loud, but already the speaker inside the earpiece has started buzzing, meaning the speaker is starting to blow out. (The speakerphone is located very close by and I suspect this could be the culprit).

2). When I turn the phone on and start talking, I notice that the phone keypad gets very warm. My face isn’t burning, but its definitely noticeable after only about ten minutes of talk time.

3). On most phones, there is a “speakerphone” button on the keypad. But on this phone, you have to press “Option” and then scroll down to “Speaker.” It makes for a very awkward transition when you first answer and the other person is like, “Hey are you there? “Can you hear me now” Are you in a tunnel?”

If you want a cheap phone that usually comes free with a contract, check out your other options. I can’t comment yet on the camera or any other features, but overlooking these 3 problems is quite difficult.

I’ve had a lot of inexpensive and simple phones in my life, and I would take any of them back over this “nice” and expensive phone! this phone is supposed to be worth $200, but now I know why sprint was giving them away for free! (well, at the price of a painful 2 year contract!).this phone is not userfriendly and is very complicated to navigate. the longer I have it, the more it starts to malfuncion. it’s difficult to desprcirbe the malfunctions but I’ll try. most have to do with text messaging which I use a lot:

-It shows me the same text as received twice

It insterts numbers in words that I commonly use when using t9. for example “some7imes”

The text conversations are saved out of order in the log, so when I look back at the conversation, everything is scrambled and I have to look at the time of the text to see how the convo actually went!

When writing texts, it gets stuck sometimes on certain words, expecially when I press next to pick the next word on the list. When I press “back” it erases the whole message instead of just one word or letter, and that message could have taken me like 10 minutes to write!

The number pad doesn’t light up when it’s dark, so I have to turn on my overhead light when I’m texting and driving at night :b

the keypad still makes noise when I have the phone on vibrate or silent!

DON’T BUY THIS PHONE, EVEN AT A GOOD PRICE. it always makes me wonder if my texts have been properly sent or received!

I received this phone free for a 2 year agreement. BIG MISTAKE. Speaker phone is “whack” you have to go through “steps” to get to the speaker button, takes minutes to send or receive a picture, not good for “big hand” people, ear piece volumn is not loud enough, speaker volumn works only in closed doors with no one around, picture taking is not all that, have to struggle to take back of phone off, (make sure you have a piece of tape to grip back)…just straight up garbage!! Advice, DON’T GET IT OR YOU’LL BE SORRRRRRYYYYY.

  4. Comment by fed up with this phone

I have had some of the same issues mentioned by others as far as the phone being hard to open and the first ring not being as loud as the next. Also, I’ve had this phone for 9 months and searched and searched for a speakerphone button and was convinced one did not exist until I read “kazootibbs” review. My phone does not get any service where I work, so the battery is run down on “searching for signal” after an 8 hour shift when it was fully charged before my shift. Also, for the past couple months my phone does this thing where it reboots itself randomly and all my recent calls and text messages are just gone. So annoying! Can’t wait to get my Instinct for Christmas!

  5. Comment by C. S. Nehring

After putting up with the quirks this has, it has met with the end of the road. 7 months and I wont be eligible for an upgrade for another 17 YIKES

This may be the deal breaker for sprint 2 year contracts in the future

Sure it has been dropped a few times, passes the test there and kept on working, but this weekend during a walk in a light rain I take a call and it turned out to be a 15 minute conversation. No big deal it got a little wet…

WRONG seems it got a lot wet and is now in do not work well mode (My Bad) I am so happy I kept my old Sanyo A much more intuitive phone.

As others have mentioned it is hard to open and access features, “OK” if you are sitting in a tree fort with nothing better to do. Yep its a phone, takes pictures and you can access the internet sort of.

Oh and the mirrored cover? It cracked while in my pocket on the first month. Now if only Timex made a Phone… Hmm
