Design
The a707 design takes the standard clamshell form factor to the next level with its impressive media and data capabilities while maintaining a stylish and cool exterior. A large 240 x 320 full-color display with over 262,000 colors dominates the inside of the top cover. The outside cover of the handset sports a supplementary external display that can display time, call information, battery and signal strength, and more. The external screen can even be set to display a large analog clock. A TransFlash/MicroSD memory card slot is located on the right side of the phone while a 2.0-megapixel camera lens is housed above the external display. I got this phone for my daughter and the phone features seemed fine, the big number display when dialing was very helpful other than that it was your everyday modern flip phone. However she also wanted to listen to music and that’s where the trouble began. We bought a music bundle that came with the USB cord and headset to transfer mp3s from PC to phone. Loaded on the software and USB driver and plugged in the phone, Windows XP recognized it as a camera, it is supposed to work with both Samsungs own PC Studio 3 (the included software) and windows media player v10 or greater, neither would recognize it. I am no newb to PCs so I did the usual (changed USB ports, reset the computer, reset the phone, went online to Samsungs sight and went through all of their troubleshooting) nothing worked so I called tech support. Their answer; reset your computer and unplug the USB cord from the phone just as your desktop icons disappear, then when windows is starting and you have the bar running under Windows (the word) plug it back in. Amazingly this worked and we loaded on the music, problem solved…until she listened to music, 3 songs later and the phone says the music files are there until you try to play them then it says “the file does not exist” on all of them (btw before you think it, no corrupt files from the PC). So I plug it back into the USB to try to unload the files but guess what, now it won’t recognize the phone again, apparently you have to use the tech support unplug/plug trick EVERYTIME. And as a bonus the highly touted song ID does not work period(tried different sources, different distances away (all very clean signals), all very popular songs and artists…nothing). The phone is being returned, I highly recommend doing the same if you got it for any kind of musical feature.

I have owned this phone for a little over a year and it sucks! I have had nothing but problems with it and now it’s out of warranty so it’s a paperweight until I can upgrade at an affordable price. Unless you’re looking for a pretty paperweight, NO NOT BUY THIS GARBAGE!!!!!

I like my phone alot, even though somethines i get jealous of the fancier ones. There is something that really makes me go FADSSDJ!!!!! its when you sit the phone so its standing straight up and then, sombody else calls it and when on vibrate, it spins in a circle!!

BAD phone/Sevice! Renewed my Cingular/AT+T service with 2 of the Samsung SYNC A707 devices with AT+T. Been 45 days and could not be more disappointed! Very Poor quality! been through 2-3 batteries each phone and now one does not get any signal (eventhough bars showing). Spend many hours with AT+T tech – since over 30 days AT+T/Samsung not very helpful at all. I read these reviews everytime I purchase something new -please DO NOT get this phone or AT+T service!
