There is a small red light on top that lets you know the unit is working some may choose to cover this up with some electrical tape so it emits no light but I like it. The unit does feel a little plasticy but I think it's better than expected for the price, and definitely no reason not to buy it as the Verizon one probably feels the same for much more.
