I would have given this 3.5 stars if that option were available. It has just one negative, but it is an important one. It is totally uncomfortable to wear. After having it long periods of time in your ear it actually hurts to have it on. This does not affect me much, because I have short commutes and do not travel significantly, but if you are someone who will have it on constantly this is not the bluetooth device for you. It does have great range, the signal is excellent and you can make calls using the voice recognition feature smoothly. I can’t compare it to other devices and the bells and whistles they may offer, but for the basics this is a good device for the price. Essentially, if you are someone who has their device on all day, don’t buy this one, but if you only need it for short periods it is very good.

I bought this headset for my wife on a whim on Black Friday this past year. Her contract wasn’t up until the end of January, but as we live in Oregon, and we just passed a mandatory headset law, I knew she’d need one eventually. In the interim month after Christmas before she got her new phone, I used the headset, and was pleased at how comfortable it was, how clear not only the sound was in my ear, but also how well it captured my voice for voice command on my iPhone. I also liked that there was a physical on/off button rather than having to hold down the command button.

Then I went shopping for myself, and couldn’t believe that none of the headsets I tried could live up to this dinky little cheap motorola I bought my wife! They were either really comfortable, but sounded like crap, or the sound was great, but I just couldn’t get it to fit quite right, or they were ALMOST the complete package, but it couldn’t seem to understand my voice well, and kept dialing the wrong people when using voice command.

So this is by no means the best headset out there, but for the money, it’s a fantastic deal.

Oh, and I have to mention that it’s apparently very durable. I lost this for a week (lost=my daughter took it and hid it somewhere), and ended up finding it in my fridge behind some juice….and it still works great.

Do I have abnormally small ear space for this kind of thing or what? Ouch is the nicest thing I can say about the way this feels. I can hear, people can hear me. And it hurts like crazy. Good grief. I paid almost forty bucks for it at Walmart. Call me dumb, but don’t call me at all while I’m wearing this painful thing. Can anyone recommend a bluetooth headset that doesn’t hurt my ear? I am afraid to buy another one without a recommendation from someone that has suffered this one and found one that doesn’t hurt.
