My screen had some damage, a crack all the way across it, likely due to handling. I reported to them and they sent me another one as soon as they had my return tracking number.

Excellent customer service, rapid response, would definetly recommend to everyone.

you tube videos were helpful and easy to follow as well.

There were sites promising to fix my phone, provided I send it to them and pay through the nose. I have been satisfied with the availability that Amazon provides in searching for great deals. I placed my search and came across this repair kit. I was all set. I was surprised by the amount of tools given. A guitar pick? I repaired my phone and have been spreading the word to my friends. If my phone needs parts, I NOW know where to go.

Review by A. Love for Apple iPhone 3G 8GB/16GB Original LCD Display Screen US Rating: Like the other reviewers, I dropped my iphone 3g and smashed the glass. Following poorly written directions, I then cracked my still-perfect LCD while taking the phone apart to do my own glass repair. I ordered this replacement, and about a week later it arrived. I installed without any problems. Note that the LCD you will receive does not include the metal bracket that screws to the glass and plastic screen unit -- you will have to peel the old LCD off the bracket, then affix this new one with the adhesive backing that comes on the replacement LCD. This was very easy -- nothing like the tough adhesive that holds the glass face to the plastic screen bracket.

Since putting the phone back together, I have noticed that there is an almost imperceptible, high-pitched whine when the LCD is on. I have noticed that this is louder when the phone is plugged in and charging, and that it varies at different brightnesses. I find that the loudest (unplugged) whine occurs at ~20% brightness. I noticed this whine within the first hour after replacing the LCD, which makes me think that the original LCD from Apple did not have this issue or surely I would have noticed in my obsessive use of the phone since I bought it.

The other issue I have with the replacement is a faint discoloration at both sides of the screen. This also is nearly imperceptible, but I notice a faint yellowing of white backgrounds near the edges of the screen that I never saw before.

Both of these issues are minor and have not interfered with my use of the phone, but I wonder if I would have received a higher-quality replacement for a few more bucks.

LCD works flawlessly for my 3G iphone 16gb. Fixing it myself was the most cost effective way to repair my cracked LCD. It's very easy to replace your own LCD with all the tutorials and videos on the web. Thank you!

YouTube videos are great to guide you along... Ribbon 3 is a little scary to unlatch, but everything turned out great. My screen looks as beautiful as ever, and you cannot tell the LCD was replaced or ever broken! Look into the suction cup method for glass removal. I used my car GPS window mount.
